This is an image from last night's fire. My mom woke me up at midnight by yelling "Jen, wake up! Grab your camera! Howard Street is on fire!!!"So, I threw on some shoes and pants, grabbed my camera and headed out to the block behind my house.
Luckily, no one was injured. Most of the homes weren't occupied, but nine were still left homeless. Luck was also on our side because the weather wasn't too cold so the water didn't freeze and there was no wind so it didn't spread to the homes opposite or garages next to it.
I took a walk back this morning and took some photos of the aftermath. They can be seen on my smugmug page.
